Did you play with dolls, toy car mats, computers, and board games...? Well. Who doesn’t love board games?
But aside most regular activities you are able to conduct in the safety of a house or back yard, who ran threw rivers? Who remembers playing in mud, running to the beach, splashing in rivers, and dashing at top speed through the forest away from friends?
When I was young, there was a special place on Georgian Bay in Ontario that made me obsessed with the water. I was very lucky that my family (aunt, uncles, cousins and grandparents) all had wonderful campsites in a small town where we could be so free when so young. It had crayfish and small brown fish if you were fast enough with those butter fly nets to get a good look. It had a beach, trails, a small marina, and the best grounders playground possible. The free exploration we were allowed - I hope that can be possible for all children at some point as they grow.
Sure there were card and board games plenty, but my grandparents always had a stock of colouring books for rainy and relaxing days. With crayons and the little watercolours that come in circles we scribbled our days away. When we were older, ee would scour the beach for the smoothest rocks and paint them too (...and of course, sell them to family and freinds for candy funds!).
